Cast.

Actor: Orapeleng Mokhothu

Character: Ray

I'm a conceptualist and a performer. I'm passionate about creating art. I believe that that's the only way to cheat death and live forever. I'm interested in professional wrestling. Currently my favourite film is Inglorious Bastards.

Actress: Lindelani Mulaudzi

Character: Veronica (V)

I am a Live Performance 3rd Year student at AFDA Johannesburg. I am an aspiring actress and poet. I love telling stories and embodying characters and I loved being challenged. I am interested in love languages, empaths, and psychology. This comes in handy when establishing a new character and helps me know how to interact with people. Future plans, I plan on entertaining people but also shining light onto mental health especially in young black people as well as publishing my poetry.

Actress: Lihlelethu Waya

Character: Onica

Being an actress, is something I take pride in. From a young age I knew I wanted to be a performer. I always knew that I wanted to tell my side of the story to everything and help other people tell theirs. There has always been a sense of unity to me in doing that. A sense of knowing that I can speak and connect to people in more ways than one. I have always felt a sense of belonging in front of an audience. I have fallen in love with the opportunity of being myself in a free and welcoming space. Whether I am acting or not, being in a space filled with creatives, makes me feel like I can explore my creativity and push myself to limits I was once afraid of. Performance makes me fall in love with all of my abilities and prompts me to search for more. In a performance space, I learn, I grow, and I love and that is why I am a Performer.

Crew.

Writer & Director: Bahumi Madisakwane

I’m a film directing & writing student at AFDA, actress, and in a nutshell love entertaining people. I’m interested in people; their mannerisms, personalities, and interests - both for story and sentimental reasons. Future plans: breaking ground in the film & television industry, trailblazing.

Producer: Anké Hurn

I’m a third year film student from AFDA majoring in Producing and auditing Production Design classes. Outside of AFDA I'm a poet and busy with a part-time acting course. There is something exciting and fulfilling about being on set and I enjoy every moment of it. This past few years not only taught me a lot of exciting things in film, but it also helped me grow as a person. Producing helped me to be more confident, it is also a way for me to step out of my comfort zone, and it challenge me on different levels. I fall in love with filmmaking everyday and can't wait to see what the future holds. I enjoy watching Period Dramas, Musicals and Romantic Comedies. Future plans: My dream is to work on a Period Drama.

Cinematographer: Cameron Baatjies

I'm a third year AFDA student who is currently double majoring in Cinematography and Data Grading. For Hue Film Productions I have taken the role of Director of Photography (DOP). The DOP oversees the visual aspects of the film. They make up the shot list and decide how the film will be portrayed to the audience with that specific shot selection. I tried studying accounting at the university of Pretoria but later decided that the film industry is where his talents would be put to better use. He decided that coming to AFDA is the best choice for him. He is interested in making a good name for himself in the South African industry, with the end goal being to make a name for himself internationally. My favourite film is Tenet and right now is very interested in the TV series New Amsterdam.

Colour Grader & DIT: Jamie Pascoe

I am a third year Data Grader at AFDA Johannesburg and I am the Data Wrangler and Colourist for our experimental film, Toxic. This means I handle how our footage gets to each department as it comes out the camera and I bring colour into the film and create the look for our film in post-production. I have been making films non-stop and working on my craft at AFDA while occasionally doing commercial work outside of AFDA. Besides all the movies I watch I am also frequently playing video games or working on new potential looks for a film.

Editor: Nina Gillingham

I enjoy editing and colour grading films.  my true passion is to work on historical documentaries that will change a person perspective hopefully for the better. As well as to tell others stories through the visual medium. Hopefully through my work I can at least change the life of at least one person watching

My favourite film is King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword  and series is Mind Hunter, Seinfeld and The Office.

Sound Designer: Alexio de Waal

I'm a 3rd year Sound Design Student at AFDA. My job on set is to capture audio, pretty simple but when it comes to post-production that's where I can flex my muscles as a creative. I create complex sound scapes that aim to further the narrative whilst making it entertaining to watch. I'm also a freelance Photographer/ Cinematographer working under the brand name of DeV ZA Media. I also have a YouTube channel where I capture my memories using the medium to create entertaining montages to look back on in the future.

Music composer: Joshua Lees

I’m a MMP composer (Media Music Production Composer).I have always been interested in the way story is told through the medium of film. Throughout my teens I became a musician I found a love for music as well, therefore I have thought of nothing better but to pursue both my interests in becoming an MMP artist for motion picture.

Production Designer: Brinsley Maina

I am a production designer and an art director by profession. My love for production design stems from the experience I have had through interior design and my love for fashion. Growing up I was always the kid that would break something into small little pieces and rebuild it to a beautiful piece created by a 10-year-old. I am a lover of art. When I'm not building you will occasionally find me in the garden or at the golf course. I enjoy watching documentaries, cooking and blasting music in my studio. Working on this production was a great learning experience. I worked with amazing people and every member of the crew become my family.

Costume, Make-up and stylist: Waldo van der Westhuizen

I’m a designer, make-up artist and stylist. I'm currently studying at AFDA Johannesburg. Most creatives climb into this beautiful little bubble when creating. That is definitely my favourite part of being a designer. Climbing into realms to create something amazing for a character. It intrigues me to work with different colours and the psychology behind it to enhance the narrative. My goal is to be part of a world known magazine company one day and inspire the world through fashion.
